On 24th May 2024 ALFAwetlands Austrian-Hungarian Living Lab Open Day had been conducted. It took place in Illmitz, Austria, at the Lake Neusiedl.
There visitors learnt about ALFAwetlands project, its Living Labs, restoration activities, about the Lake Neusiedl and research done. Living Lab Open Day took place from 14:00 till 23:00 at 2 Locations:
- Neusiedl -Seewinkel National Park Visitor Center, address: Hauswiese, 7142 Illmitz, Austria
- Biological station, address: Seevorgelände 1, 7142 Illmitz
Furthermore, the ALFAwetlands Living Labs Photo Exhibition also took place!
Living lab Open Day was combined with the Austrian regular Long Night Research and supports citizen science activities, awareness raising and public involvement into the wetlands protection.
Note: Living Labs in ALFAwetlands are a system where all ecological (measurements, experiments, monitoring etc.) and most of the social science related work (e.g. co-creation process) and modelling are conducted.
