On September 27th, 2024, the ALFAwetlands Living Lab Open Day was held in Latvia as part of the European Researchers’ Night activities in Latvia.
It was organized by the Latvian State Forest Research Institute (LSFRI) “Silava,” a partner of ALFAwetlands.
Science and nature enthusiasts were invited to visit 35 science stops across Latvia, including the National Botanical Garden in Salaspils, which showcased botany and natural sciences research fields, including the ALFAwetlands knowledge-sharing mini-hub.
Throughout the day, a large-format landscape photo exhibition from the nine project Living Labs across Europe was displayed, and scientists from LSFRI “Silava” were present to answer intriguing questions.
The Living Lab Open Day began at 17:00 in the Environmental Education Center “Botania” at the National Botanical Garden. The Latvian State Forest Research Institute “Silava” organized the event within the framework of the ALFAwetlands project.
