The Michael Succow Foundation for the Protection of Nature is one of the oldest foundations for nature conservation in Eastern Germany. It engages in projects on peatland and climate protection, protected areas, sustainable land use and promotion of young people on four continents. It is a founding member and partner in the Greifswald Mire Centre established in 2015.

Stockholm Resilience Centre at Stockholm University was founded in 2007 as a joint initiative between the university and the Beijer Institute of Ecological Economics at The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. Since its foundation, the centre has evolved into a world-leading science centre dedicated to addressing the complex challenges facing humanity.
