Biodiversity & ecosystem services monitoring on constructed wetland

Biodiversity & ecosystem services monitoring on constructed wetland

Challenges: Agricultural runoff degrades water quality. The impacts of anthropogenic eutrophication should be reduced in continental waters and in coastal zones.

Solutions: Constructed wetland will be tested as a measure for water quality improvement (wastewater, agricultural runoff or buffering and treating stormwater) and for creating or restoring valuable wetlands habitat for wildlife use and environmental enhancement.

Outcomes: Wetlands treating agricultural runoff sequester carbon and nutrients and provide habitats for wildlife.

Type of wetland:

Constructed wetland
