Did you know that wetlands cover 5-8% of the Earth’s land area? Healthy wetlands play a major role in tackling the climate crisis. Therefore, ALFAwetlands team of practitioners from 10 EU courtiers, led by Finnish  Natural Resources Institute, works to increase the research on the potential of wetlands for climate change mitigation, biodiversity benefits and further their restoration.  During the 4,5 years of project duration, ALFAwetlands communication team, led by the European Wilderness Society will inform you about project progress and its results, including indicators to maximise climate change mitigation and biodiversity, co-creation processes, sustainability, citizen science etc.
